Well, well, well... Here we are, the day before we venture into the studio to record this masterpiece.  Four songz have been chosen: TRUST YOUR INSTiNCTS, TRiCK OR MiSTREAT, DRAGGED KiCKiNG & SCREAMiNG, GAY MAN.  To say that we are excited is an understatement!  We truly feel that these 4 trackz really demonstrate the magic that is SPiT LiKE THiS..  I'm also a little bit apprehensive - alwayz am before a recording - doesn't help that I had a call from Stevie a few hourz ago to say that his guitar had busted!  Worse case scenario, he can use one of mine.  

Spent most of today in pre-production - this rangez in simply making sure everyone has a lyric sheet to going through each song with a fine toothed-comb making detailed notez on every aspect of the song.  This EP is going to be a triumph, but it won't happen by accident!  You can bet your life that the next three dayz will be intense beyond belief!  BUT, that is one of the reasonz why I am keeping this diary.  Not only that, it will be a cool momento for us as a band to have this record and, last but not least, we do this for you!

Got a lot done today and, so far, it is sounding INCREDiBLE!  The Studio (Red Room, Brighton) is great - really atmospheric - and the engineer (Stuart) is a diamond!  He doesn't try and push his own adgenda or opinionz which, for a band like us that has a VERY strong identity, is a dream.

Arrived at 10am - a time of day I am not normally familiar with and am not particularly happy with but, I was excited so got over it!  After spending an age setting up Gilez'z kit, we got rocking.  Got a big fat drum sound and started doing some takez.  Did them "live" - no click track, drumz, bass, rhythm guitar and guide vocalz all at once.  It is really adding to the overall vibe of the songz and they sound more like we do on stage.

First up, TRiCK OR MiSTREAT.  Took a while to find the groove of this so moved onto DRAGGED.  Spent longer on that than anything else but it is ROCKiNG!!  Next up, TRUST.  This is the first song that we have re-recorded (it appearz on the "Anarchy For Two" CD that me and Vikki released before finding the rest of SLT) so I was worried about this one.  I needn't have been!  Fanz of the original will NOT be disappointed and everyone else will just think it is truly awesome.  This is the lead track of the EP.  After that, we did GAY MAN.  We thought this would take forever due to the complicated mid-section, but we did it in 3 takez!  Not bad.  Not bad at all!  And it rockz like a motherucker!  Went back to TRiCK and blasted that one out.  Upped the tempo a bit so it really bouncez along now.

After doing all that, we got some percussion down.  Overdubbing some cowbell, some cymbalz, tambourine and the all-important hand clapz!  We then went over the bass that had been recorded and, apart from a couple of drop-inz, that was perfect.  Just had time to double up the rhythm guitar on TRUST before it was time to go.

First day over with and we did alright... Only one or two of them put up a fight... More fun than I need and I sure am trying...SLEAZE SELLS...BUT WHO'S BUYiNG?

Damn busy day!  Me and Stevie were the studio ratz today..  First job, get down the rhythm guitar trackz.  So, mic'd up an amp, got a monster sound and recorded Mr Lee on all 4 songz.  Naturally, it didn't take him long to get them done and they sound heavy as FUCK.  There will be no less than 4 - count 'em - rhythm guitar trackz per song.  Those guitarz are gonna drip out of the speakerz!

Next, we recorded all of synth partz.  Blasted through TRUST and GAY MAN then, whilst the engineer had his lunch, I took charge of the desk and recorded playing TRiCK OR MiSTREAT.  Those that are lucky enough to already know this song will fucking piss themselvez with delight when they hear the new sonic treatz Mr Sinatra has added...Fucking awesome stuff.  But, you will have to wait to hear!  I quickly used the synth to add some '80'z electro drumz to GAY MAN and a rattle to TRUST.

And then it was my turn in the booth to lay down some vocalz.  I warmed myself up nicely so I could do them quickly.  DRAGGED was first then my favourite (TRiCK), then TRUST and, finally GAY MAN.  I had a spontaneous outburst at the end of GAY MAN which is going to make the EP have one of the all-time great endingz,, You'll see what I mean when you hear it!

Did backing vocalz - got some cool stuff going on there.  He then laid down some harmony guitar trackz on DRAGGED and TRiCK then, last but not least, I stuck some Spanish acoustic guitar on TRUST.

We're pretty much on schedule.  Tomorrow, Stevie has to lay down his smokin' solo in DRAGGED, Vikki has to tidy up two bass notez, me and Vikki will then do our background vocalz and then we start with the mix.  

So, within 24 hourz, I should have a ruff mix in my grubby pawz...Z x

Back to the studio - just me, Vikki and Stevie today.  First job was to get Stevie'z solo in DRAGGED done and dusted.  Plugged him in, hit record and within no time he had it licked.  And it is such a cool rock 'n' roll solo - suitz a song like DRAGGED perfectly.  We had to re-do a couple of bum bass notez on GAY MAN and TRiCK, so did them next and that took nano-secondz.

Then it was time for mine and Vikki'z backing vox.  Poor girl, don't think she'z ever had such a hard time not laughing when she is supposed to be silent.  Problem is, when I am singing, it is a kind of no-holdz-barred affair and I adopt different characterz for different voicez.  When we came to do GAY MAN, I decided that a Cockney Gangster Muppet would be the perfect voice so, naturally, I adopted all the mannerizmz of a Cockney Gangster Muppet :)  Yeah, just you wait 'til you hear the end result...

And, that was it.  All the recording was done.  So, time to mix the fucker.  Mr Manager came down for this although, as he readily admitz, he didn't have to do a lot as I had everything under control!  Poor Stuart (engineer), at the desk, me sitting behind him with pagez of notez and instructionz.  End result though is an incredible sounding spectacle of sonic delightz!  We mixed TRUST, TRiCK (pantwettingly awesome!!) then DRAGGED.  About 2 hourz per mix meant that we ran out of time to do GAY MAN so, I shall be back there on Wednezday to complete the task and then it'z off to a Mastering Suite to get the baby ready for YOU.

Yes, a surprise diary entry!  Went to Decadence last night (Glam/Sleaze club in Soho, London) as our buddy Acey Slade from Trashlight Vision / The Murderdollz was guest DJ-ing.  He stuck on DRAGGED KiCKiNG & SCREAMiNG and it blew the fucking roof off the place!  It sounded soooo damn good nestled amongst bandz like Mötley Crüe and everyone in the place was going nutz.  Quite bloody satisfying, I can tell ya!

Went and mixed GAY MAN today.  Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeezuz - it is heavy as fuck and it just redifinez punk.  We are gonna show these wannabe punk bandz that are around today the TRUE spirit of punk.  I tell ya, it soundz like an old 45 from the '70'z!  The EP is now off to be mastered next week.  That is the final journey.  Once that is done, it getz sent to the manufacturing plant and getz turned into the most shit-kicking CD you are gonna hear all fucking year!

Had a meeting with our manager after the mix.  We talked about the release date and have decided to release the EP on May 30th.  We are setting up a joint venture with him, But! Records / Megabucks Music and have signed a contract to have it distributed countrywide by PROPER MUSiC DiSTRiBUTiON.  We will give you more detailz - ie catalogue number and all that - when it is done.

Shot the video today for the "plug" track, TRiCK OR MiSTREAT.  Hired out a cool showcase studio soundstage, dressed it in SPiT LiKE THiS finery then just performed like we have never performed before.  I am telling you, this video is going to be one of the most outrageous, over the top, entertaining visual spectaclez you will EVER see in your life!  It has everything you could ever wish for from us - and more! 

Those that already know and love SLT will adore us for what we have done.  Those that are new to the UNiVERSE will wonder why it took them so fucking long to find us and how they survived before they did find us!  We did so many takez, so many shotz of everyone, I have no idea how the editor is gonna piece this together.  He could make a 5 hour video out of all the footage and you wouldn't be able to take your eyez off it!  BUT, he has to edit it down to just over 3 minutez..  poor guy! 

And, boy, did he suffer!  At one point, I was leading him around the soundstage by a collar and lead, guiding his shotz.  Awesome stuff.  We are HOPiNG that we will have this edited in time for it to be a BONUS on the EP.  How cool would that be?!

We had photoz taken throughout the shot and, in the next couple of dayz, I'll get some online for you to have a look at.  In the meantime, below is a photo of us doing a teazer trailer - the last thing we did.  This is us, after the shoot, doing a "Hi, we're SPiT LiKE THiS, and you're about to watch..." kind of thing.

Here is the latest update!  The CD was finally mastered on Wedz.  All week long, I have been working on the design and layout and, about 10 minutez ago, I finished the artwork that will appear on the EP.  I shall upload some onto this site later on today - it is looking damn sexy!  Yesterday, I designed the look of the Enhanced portion of the EP.  When you watch the video, it will look as though it is playing in a SPiT LiKE THiS theatre!  I cannot believe that we are doing so much for one release BUT, we want it to offer such incredible value for money.  There aren't many bandz out there that would stick on 4 songz, a video, enhanced CD with full, proper album like packaging all for just £3.99!  We are sooooo fucking good to you guyz - but you do deserve it!

Manufacturing of the EP beginz on Monday.  We should have it by the 22nd April and that is when we start the promotional side of thingz so that, by the time it hitz the shelvez - 30th MAY - the cuntry should be salivating for it!

I think congratulationz might be in order!  We have just had confirmation that our EP, "SLEAZE SELLS...BUT WHO'S BUYiNG?" has been the top selling EP in the country since release on May 30th.  It has also been at Number One in the Official EP Chartz since that date!  This is quite some achievement and, from here, we can only get stronger!!  So far, this EP has placed:
